What do I do if I have water damage?

Dealing with water damage can be stressful, but acting swiftly can help protect your home and belongings.

Start by safeguarding your property. If it’s safe to do so, turn off your main power switch right away, but avoid using any electrical switches until a professional has inspected your system.

If you have gas service, be alert for any unusual odors. If you smell gas, contact the gas company immediately.

To prevent further damage, take action to block any openings and stop water from spreading. Whenever possible, move undamaged items out of affected areas to dry, secure places.

Finally, be mindful that standing water and wet materials can lead to the growth of bacteria, mould, and other harmful micro-organisms, which can cause allergic reactions or disease and continue to damage your property. Mould growth can begin within 48 hours, so quick action is critical.

We’re here to guide you through the recovery process and help you get things back to normal as soon as possible.
